About Lisa Preston

I’m a qualified, BACP-registered counsellor offering warm, compassionate and non-judgemental support to adults, children and young people experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, grief, trauma, burnout and other life challenges.

I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel daunting, so my aim is to make that first step as comfortable and welcoming as possible. I offer a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted, without fear of judgement. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, struggling with workplace pressures, navigating a life transition or finding it difficult to cope with everyday demands, you don’t have to face things alone.

With a background in healthcare and leadership, I understand how stress, responsibility and caring for others can affect our emotional wellbeing, relationships and confidence. Counselling offers an opportunity to pause, focus on yourself and explore your thoughts and feelings in a space where your needs matter.

I also have personal experience of infertility, having navigated this challenging time around 20 years ago with the support of loved ones and therapy. I appreciate how deeply fertility difficulties can affect emotional wellbeing and recognise that everyone’s journey is unique. This experience has given me a personal understanding that I bring to my work with sensitivity, empathy and care.

My approach is collaborative and tailored to your individual needs. I work at a pace that feels right for you, helping you gain clarity, develop self-understanding and explore ways forward. Where helpful, I can also offer practical tools, grounding techniques and strategies to support your emotional wellbeing between sessions.

Having worked both face-to-face and remotely, I value building a warm, trusting therapeutic relationship in which you feel comfortable enough to talk openly and be yourself.

Areas I can support you with include:

Anxiety, stress and low mood

Burnout and workplace wellbeing

Fertility difficulties and infertility

Grief, bereavement and loss

Trauma and challenging life experiences

Life transitions and personal challenges

Emotional regulation and grounding techniques

Above all, I want you to feel heard, valued and supported as you work towards greater understanding, emotional wellbeing and a way forward that feels right for you.

I want you to feel heard, valued and supported as you work towards greater understanding, emotional wellbeing and a way forward that feels right for you.
